I'm at least from Oregon so I have an idea what the weather might be like for FW but I figure it might be wise to check with everyone and see what FW veterans think the weather is gonna be like.
Are we talking 90's or 80's? or a perfect mid to high 70's (here where I put on my wishing cap)
Expect any rain?
How about at night?
I'm getting the last of my costuming stuff ready and want to be prepared just in case.

Re: Weather?
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 12:10 PMI don't know what they've been doing to keep the weather goblins away but it's certainly worked so far... Typically it's been fair, sunny, and quite warm (mid-80's). -

Re: Weather?
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 12:24 PMLast year there wasn't any rain. It was Hot during the day and chilled off a little at night. I think I was cold more from the heat of the day and then having the wind at night really feels cold on your sun burnt skin! Its a dry heat so I am pretty sure it was in the mid 80s but the breeze made it bearable. I have heard from previous Faerieworlders that in past years its been hotter and no breeze and very little rainy days. Hope that helps!!

Re: Weather?
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 1:36 PMI think we can expect temps in the 80s, possibly 90s with a lot of sun. It's the warmest time of the year in Oregon, and also the driest. Rain probably won't be a problem, but then anyone who went to OCF on Sunday this year knows there's always the possibility. If it does rain, it could come down hard but briefly. I'm bringing my poncho just in case. I'm probably also bringing my large umbrella but that will be more for sun than rain, although my wizard hat has a really broad brim.
At night it will cool off probably into the 60s and upper 50s. The site is right next to the river, so if it's clear and calm at night, all the cool air will settle into where we'll be. I think layers for late night clothing and bedding are a good idea.
Just for an example, the Intellicast weather forecast for Eugene for the next 10 days shows a high of 90 today, then in the lower to mid-80s through the 26th, with the high on only one day of 79. Nighttime lows are in the mid- to upper 50s. They're calling for two days of partly cloudy skies, two days of mostly sunny skies, and six days of sunny skies. Bring strong sunscreen, especially if your costume leaves a lot of you exposed. Bring water bottles and drink plenty of water, especially if you like to get up and dance in front of the main stage during the day. I understand there will be a place to fill water bottles.
Here's a link to the Intellicast forecast page for Eugene that you might want to keep an eye on between now and FW:

Re: Weather?
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 3:47 PMLast year at Quiet Camp I could literally see my breath one night. It was bloody FREEZING! And then during the day it was super hot and sunny, so be prepared for a wide range of temperatures.
Today it is 98 degrees in Eugene.
Bring lots of water, sunscreen, and warm clothes to put on at night, and warm sleeping stuff.

Re: Weather?
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 4:51 PMHey thanks for the link! That's really helpful.
Im mostly preparing for high temps. I have lots of gauzy layers to keep the sun off.
But the night info is good. SO I know to pack my wool over robes and coats and things.

Re: Weather?
Tue, July 21, 2009 - 8:01 PMIntellicast's 10-day forecast is now showing Eugene as having a high of 88 on Wednesday and 83 on Thursday, sunny both days, which will be of interest to vendors and volunteers for setup. 10-day forecasts aren't always that reliable but the give and indication at least. -

Re: Weather?
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 7:38 PMits warm enough during the day that i bring this little fan gadget that has a water spritzer with the fan.
and at night i bring a pair of velvet leggins or leg warmers and a velvet top or arm warmers to slip on at dusk. without actually having to remove any of my costume! except maybe the wings for a moment!!!
this also keeps any critters away when the sun starts to go down, well aside from eating garlic, lol!!!

Re: Weather?
Fri, July 17, 2009 - 9:40 PMYuuuuuuck, 98 degrees? I may be changing my costumes now. Thank goodness for the night time reprieve of cool weather . It was really cold last year one night indeed. My nose was so cold I couldn't sleep, Maddy and I ended up in the van. Bring enough for the cool and the very cold for sure. -

Re: Weather?
Sat, July 18, 2009 - 9:22 AMI'm a California peep, but a mountain one, so the nights aren't a problem for me, cold is normal and we don't even shut our windows until it gets in the low 40's - LOL. And unlike the PNW'ers, we can probably handle the heat a bit better if it gets too warm. Although I can't handle the heat anymore, which is why I'm not planning on staying in California much longer. Last night it never got cool, first time this year, so I guess I can't complain yet. -

Re: Weather?
Sat, July 18, 2009 - 6:17 PMit's flipp'n 102 today in Reno NV! I can handle the 80-90's and it gets cool at night but not the last 3 days only getting down to the 60's by 3 am them when the sun comes up instant hot and it sucks! I'm a cold air person so I'm so looking forward to being in Oregon again! -

Re: Weather?
Sat, July 18, 2009 - 9:16 PMYeah we've been getting some weird heat even here in Oregon lately. I'm just hoping it quits before our happy fun time starts I really hate the heat.
But my bamboo top from Mahidevi showed up today so I'm feeling like I might be able to take the heat if it does hit us. -

Re: Weather?
Sun, July 19, 2009 - 10:35 AMI was pretty okay with a long sleeve shirt at night last year.
Oh, and I talked to the head weather goblin, and since we're friends, he said there'd be no rain at FW.. maybe a little overcast in the beginning though. :)

Thu, July 23, 2009 - 2:56 PMChecked the 10 day extended forcast for Eugene and it says that Friday the 31st is to be 88, Sat 85 and they don't have Sunday up but I'll assume it will be anywhere from 82 on up. -

Re: Weather?
Fri, July 24, 2009 - 1:42 PMIntellicast's 10-day forecast now includes Sunday:
Wednesday: Sunny, 90/59
Thursday: Sunny, 89/57
Friday: Partly cloudy, 86/57
Saturday: Scattered thunderstorms, 83/57
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, 82/55
It's looking a bit on the hot side for folks setting up on Wednesday and Thursday, but for the festival itself temperatures appear to be more reasonable. Scattered thunderstorms are back in the forecast, this time for Saturday, but that doesn't mean we'll get rained on. A brief shower would be OK, and some clouds during the day will provide relief from direct sun. All in all, it doesn't look to much unlike past years.
