    I honestly have no idea...I've scarcely breezed by this forum for weeks, been in constant rehearsal....perhaps emilio bagged it?
    i'm sure he has his reasons...
    he's busy as a freakin cracked out bee at this point! but i'll ask him to explain!

      Well that would be Laura I guess then... Anyways, its all good, I wouldnt have left that thread up on here if I was a moderator (Organizer) of the festival anyways because it could be litigious.

        your saying... that if you take your close off at a nude beach off site and get arrested? that because people on a Chat forum told you you probably wouldn't get arrested that it is somehow there fault? or the organizers of the festival?
        get a grip.
        This is the last i will be indulging in this sillyness.....

          No, you are not quoting me properly.

          What I did was quote directly from www.glassbarisland.org website where they say that it is a State Park, and that even though they are in collaboration with Oregon Parks and Recreation Department to preserve and maintain the site, that you should be aware that even though it is considered a nudist beach, it is still illegal...Here is a direct quote the website along with the link to where you can find out more about the legislation.

          I wanted to make sure that I was not just providing "BS" as you so snidely put it, and so I called Oregon Parks and Recreation and spoke to the Park Manager. Officially, they said that it is "Legal" to be nude in an Oregon State Park per the Oregon Administrative Rules, HOWEVER, Lane County's laws are that it is "Illegal" to be nude anywhere in a public area. The issue is that neither Oregon State nor Lane County know who trumps who, and they have not wanted to iron that detail out because it would result in one of them having to break or re-define their law. She also mentioned that if a Lane County Sheriff were to come by and find people nude, they could arrest them, and for a non-national like me, it would be a lot more difficult legally to maneouver, but that the chances were slim that they would walk or boat in since it is so remote.

          Anyways, I've provided the information, take the information if you will, or don't, it doesn't bother me either way. Thankfully FWorlds is large enough that I never have to see you. :)

            why not just not go there and leave it be?
            we never said it wasn't illegal to be naked there, just that it is not patrolled.... and the parking lot is full all the time and on a main road that officers drive down and i have NEVER in the almost 18 years Ive lived here heard of anyone being arrested for being naked at glassbar.
            and that is all i have to say about that.....
            sad for you Steve that you are turning something so silly into something so huge and heading to FW with a chip on your shoulder...

              Why wouldn't I call them, my purpose was to know and share the correct information, and that was the best way to get informed. Just because there are a lot of people doing it does not mean it is necessarily right, and ignorance of the law is not an excuse in a court of law. I just wanted to be well informed.

              And I don't have a chip on my shoulder, and if I see you at the festival I will smile and say hi, just like I would anyone else.

              Methinks it may be you that seems to have it out for me, which is kind of strange really, but oh well, I am over it.

    It was ME, the original poster, i deleted it because myself and my friend we being portrayed as anti nudists who think all free spirits are perverts. WHICH IS NOT CORRECT!
    So for anyone curious about the thread.... here we go!
    I was asked about off site swimming and nudity multiple times, so decided to just post something about glassbar island which is a CLOSE off site swimming spot that is NUDE.
    Then "Steve" says oh no we will be arrested and not allowed in the country if we take our clothes off at a nude beach.... and i said NO YOU WONT!
    this isn't Mexico guys... we don't kidnap our tourists..........or arrest them for bogus bullshit reasons.
    AND then Steve was still arguing with my friend about it. and she proceeded to tell him MANY MANY MANY MEN GO THERE AND GET NAKED EVERYDAY and noone ever gets arrested, the parking lot is always full and its on a street that is patroled by law enforcment
    and we told him it is also just not that family friendly... which evidently upset him as well.
    We told him 9 out of 10 men that go there on a regular basis a dirty perverts hooking up with casual encounters off of craigslist. WHICH IS TRUE! you can sometimes see there adds on craigslist looking to meet there for dirty sex i am from eugene and have actually been there, not from Canada making assumptions... we just wanted people to know what to expect if the go to glassbar and maybe would not want to take there children there knowing thatpeople could be going at it in the bushes.
    again this is not about EVERY NUDE FRIENDLY PLACE EVERYWHERE it is JUST about glassbar, and it is JUST the facts.....and we never even suggested anyone go there, just that it is the closest offsite swimming,
    Jeeesh now i wish id never even mentioned it.... thanks for the BS steve......

      I think you are blowing this completely out of proportion, and honestly, who uses caps like that? Its really quite dramatic.

      You posted that there was a nude beach nearby, I looked into it because that would be something that would be great fun on a hot day, and followed the link from the volunteer association to the Lane County site where they mentioned that it is not legal to be nude on a public beach (which this beach is since it falls under the parks legislation) and sent off a little note so that those of us from out of country would be aware of the possible ramifications.

      Pretty simple.

      All of the other drama is yours, and yours alone. Enjoy it, alone.

          Thats what I did two years ago and it was FUN! And REAL.
          My kids are no longer intrigued by nudity...heehee.

            cougar is great! its a nice drive up there too ; ) ..theres blue pool off hwy 58 for more hotsprings.. just a few small ones off a big trucker pull off.. very quiet and secluded.. but not as nice as cougar ; ) ..and salt creek falls is not far from there.. there's so much beauty so close to town!! anyone who has the extra time should really go exploring!! i wouldn't live anywhere else!!

              I have not been to Cougar Hot Springs yet, but I have heard it is amazing. I really want to go, so if anyone is planning a trip there please do let me know if I might come along. :)

                  Of course, even contemplating hot springs is horrible right now because it was 107 FRACKING degrees today!!!

                  I think part of my soul burned away it was so hot. It was soul-burning hot.

                    i'm contemplating cougar more seriously now, found some other cool sounding ones enroute back to seattle also. but if we leave early enough tonite we can hit one of 'em enroute to camp richardson early in the a.m.......
