Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?

Delhi to Dublin ROCKED!!!!
Beats Antique was wickedly cool to dance to. Zoe is just magical.

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 11:31 AMI'd have to say Delhi 2 Dublin was my favorite, although Faun is such a close second as to an indiscernable difference in degree. Gaia Consort (or their new name) was great as always and I was bummed it was too hot to dance to them during their first performance. (and thank you Sue, for the blueberry pancakes) I managed to dance to a lot of their second time. And I finally managed to hear Tricky Pixie properly this year, I've always been off wandering during their performances in past years and this year it was fun to give them more of my attention. And it was fun to recognize almost all the Woodland songs this year! Louisa Krall... I'm sorry, I don't remember her name properly, sang hauntingly beautiful songs. I also got a kick out of watching her rock out dancing to Faun just like us ordinary fae. (Although really, there are NO ordinary fae, silly me.)

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 11:42 AMDelhi 2 Dublin, hands down. Oh, I still love my old favorites (Tricky Pixie and Gaia Consort/Bone Poets Orchestra), but what a surprise the Vancouver band was! (And this from someone pushing 60...) -

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 12:43 PMFaun was fantastic and it was a whole lot of fun for me to get out in the middle of their Celtic spiral dance to photograph it from the inside. Unfortunately I only got to hear a little of Delhi 2 Dublin as I was entering the Realm after spending Saturday afternoon with Gisela's film folks. I love Irish music and really regretted missing them.
I'm not sure I'll be able to get to the Winter event as two nights in a motel is a bit much, but if I throw caution to the winds and attend anyway, I'd love to see Faun and D2D along with Tricky Pixie, Woodland, Bone Poets and The Wicker Men. -

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 5:42 PMD2D and Tricky Pixie were definitely my two fave bands, but my absolute favorite parts of the weekend was spending time with my Fae fam, and getting hugs from Sooj and Kelly. These are two women whose voices always touch my soul, and talking to them was amazing for me.

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 6:43 PMFaun was my favorite for sure, I'd love to see them again.
-
Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 6:56 PMFaun and Beats Antique were my two favorites.
I think that if D2D would have been a better fit for Good Faeries Day, and Beats Antique would have been better on Bad Faeries.
It worked out for the best, though, in that I would have killed myself dancing in full redcap armor if Beats Antique and Faun had been on the same day.

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 8:04 PMFaun definitely was amazing, and I have been digging beats Antique hard, saw them in Boston as well, and D2D rocked.........
-
Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 4, 2009 - 8:37 PMI didn't think I'd be able to dance at all, what with the heat and the lack of sleep and all the running around we did getting the camping organized.
But Lyra and I went down to the river right before Delhi 2 Dublin, cooled ourselves down, and came back in our soaked-to-the-skin pants and underwears. THAT gave us just enough cooling power to dance through the first half of that amazing set...
Bring 'em back for Winter Celebration! I'm looking forward to dancing through their full set next time! :) -

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Wed, August 5, 2009 - 12:58 PMFYI back in March when all this started for me I was sitting in a Borders bookstore wasting time reading magazines when I came across a Faerie magazine with an ad for FAERIEWORLDS featuring FAUN.
Up to this point I had been saving money to go to Europe (mostly just to go, but...). While there I intended to See Faun in concert some how.
So when I realised I could see them without having to go all the way across the world I was extatic.
I had never been to a festival like Faerieworlds before. I am very glad I went.
So in the end the short answer is that I would have gone all the way to Europe to see Faun.
FAUN rulz -

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Wed, August 5, 2009 - 2:00 PMD2D ROCKED!! I got to talk to the lead singer at Hawks booth later and he was stoked when I told him I loved them just as much as my 17 yr old daughter...they rock across the generations!
Faun. Nuff said.
Beats antique...oh I loved watching Zoe dance...she is a true inspiration for bellydance!
Bone poet.
And of course our beloved Woodland. Who else?
We REALLY REALLY REALLY missed Kan'nal this year (but of course that isnt in the festivals hands) and we so hope theyre performing again soon and Trillian Green...what happened to them? Another favorite missed.

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Thu, August 6, 2009 - 7:22 AMEverybody was wonderful but it was such a joy to have Faun bring their old world joyful revelry to the Realm. I dance more at FW than I do the rest of the year and Beats Antique, Dublin 2 Dehli, Tricky Pixie, and the band formerly known as Gaia's Consort were among those that had me up. I'd love to see Goddess Alchemy Project in the future. A wee bit of old school Celtic, such as Dervish, would be sweet also. Thank all of you for making this magic possible! -

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Fri, August 7, 2009 - 2:13 PMWOODLAND!!!!!! total tip top favorite :) i missed most of the friday night set due to mythmaker rehearsal but at least i got to dance in teh center of the pentacle with willow to Cap and Bells, Rose REd and Will-o-the WIsp. The sunday set was so sweet and intimate feeling though. It was like a dream set for the hardcore wood-heads :) It didn't matter at the time that it was blisteringly hot, we just had to be up there dancing to our favorite songs. ADam Hurst's contributions are amazing and so hertmoving, and Louisa was so fun and awesome with woodland too :)
FAUN was second place they played most of my favorite songs and i really loved hearing Oliver's introductions to the songs and interaction with the audience.
pretty much if Faerie worlds was just these two bands, it would be plenty enough to get us to travel all the way out here :)

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Fri, August 7, 2009 - 8:16 PMOf course WOODLAND is amazing, I didn't mention them for who I would like to see at the Winter Celebration as I assumed they are a given, and it is a given that we all adore Woodland, at least in my opinion ;-) -

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Thu, August 13, 2009 - 7:38 AMMy favorite was Faun. They are one of my top two favorite bands. I agree with, Jason I think it was?, in that I would go to Europe to see them. Another similar band that should have been at Faerieworlds, my other favorite, is Omnia.
I did also enjoy Delhi 2 Dublin and Manoverboard.

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Thu, August 13, 2009 - 8:02 PMHi Emilio, Yes we were not able to get across there this year, but we thought we should tell you about Wendy Rule. Heard of her? We saw her first at Spoutwood, then she was at Wisteria Summer Solstice, which rocked! Wendy is an Australian with many original pagan and Faerie songs. Apparently quite popular down under.
Jeff McBride did his Alchemical, three night ritual fire thing at Wisteria. We would LOVE to see Woodland play there. We talked to Todd Alan about you and he wants to hear more.
We've had a great Summer, but we miss you all. Sounds like an amazing time was had there too. We'll have to pick up more Oregon wood.
See you soon, Beth and Zeeb

Re: What was your favorite band? Who would you like to see at the WInter Celebration?
Tue, August 18, 2009 - 4:27 AMMy absolute favourite moment of the festival was during Faun, but it is like choosing between different flavours of chocolate, they are ALL AMAZING! Delhi to Dublin was incredible, and the Sunday Woodland performance was also a highlight.
As for the future, well, I realise I am dreaming but if I EVER get to see Loreena perform at FW's I will probably faint. Emilie Autumn and Abney Park also come strongly to mind, as well as Faith and the Muse and Mors Syphilitica. Oooh, and AfroCelt Sound System.
