Hi all... I've posted a map of the site in the Tribe's picture gallery.

Hopefully this should clarify some of the discussion...

As you can see from the map, the site is somewhat spread out this year. This is necessary since we only just moved to the site a few weeks ago. This is all improv, and making the best of what we can do in the time we have...

Party camp is in the large open field below the Main Event Site.

Family/Quiet Camp is in the area to the left - you can't tell from the doctored image, but it's a lovely shaded area full of trees. It's also a bit more of a walk.

The campstove cooking area HAS TO BE on the X next to the large rectangle. This is because it is a concrete pad. The rest of the site is tinder-dry grass. (Sorry, but that's the way it has to be this year...)

Showers are a bit removed from the camping area by necessity - they had to be near a water source! But on the bright side... there ARE showers! :)

Yes, there will be drinking water available as well.

Lyra and I will be your camping coordinators this year... if you have any questions, feel free to ask here!

  • Sure I will open the questions. The blurb on there about vendor/volunteer camping down in the party camp whats that all about?

Will the road that goes through there be closed for the event? Hope so or there will need to be pixie crossing signs.

How long a walk do you think it is from say the far end of the loud camp? The super quiet camp?

Okay that's all I can think of for now.
    • 1) most vendors will be camping with their booths, or in the RV section.

      2) there is currently a section reserved for vendors and volunteers in the party area; we may have one in the family/quiet zone as well, or we may just let vendors/volunteers camp wherever they want (since that's probably what they'll do , anyway).

      3) There will be no driving during the festival on the internal "roads" (really more dirt tracks) except for official vehicles.

      4) It's about a 10 minute walk from the far end of the party camp to the event site; about 20 minutes from the end of the quiet zone.
      • I kinda like the idea of a vendor/ volunteer camp. Not all of us vendors were so lucky to get a booth with camping. (next year I guess) But you are right everyone is going to kind of go wherever they want.

Right now I have my eye on the nearest corner under the trees close to the event.. Heck even my booth is on that end. Which ironically is also where you placed the vendor/volunteer camp :)
  • At the work party on Wednesday the 22nd I got a couple of photos of maps of the site. They're in my Flickr Faerieworlds 2009 set at www.flickr.com/photos/mob...1605739964/

Photos 6 and 12 are the maps. Photo 6 is the big map Emilio showed us at the beginning. Photo 12 is one with overlays detailing what goes where with North being to the left. If you click on those photos, then click on "All Sizes" and choose "Original size" you'll see the maps in pretty decent detail.

I hope this helps. I'd upload them to the tribe site, but photo sizes are pretty limited, whereas on Flickr I can upload the original sizes.
