Hi all... I've posted a map of the site in the Tribe's picture gallery.
Hopefully this should clarify some of the discussion...
As you can see from the map, the site is somewhat spread out this year. This is necessary since we only just moved to the site a few weeks ago. This is all improv, and making the best of what we can do in the time we have...
Party camp is in the large open field below the Main Event Site.
Family/Quiet Camp is in the area to the left - you can't tell from the doctored image, but it's a lovely shaded area full of trees. It's also a bit more of a walk.
The campstove cooking area HAS TO BE on the X next to the large rectangle. This is because it is a concrete pad. The rest of the site is tinder-dry grass. (Sorry, but that's the way it has to be this year...)
Showers are a bit removed from the camping area by necessity - they had to be near a water source! But on the bright side... there ARE showers! :)
Yes, there will be drinking water available as well.
Lyra and I will be your camping coordinators this year... if you have any questions, feel free to ask here!

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 1:28 AMSure I will open the questions. The blurb on there about vendor/volunteer camping down in the party camp whats that all about?
Will the road that goes through there be closed for the event? Hope so or there will need to be pixie crossing signs.
How long a walk do you think it is from say the far end of the loud camp? The super quiet camp?
Okay that's all I can think of for now. -

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 9:10 AM1) most vendors will be camping with their booths, or in the RV section.
2) there is currently a section reserved for vendors and volunteers in the party area; we may have one in the family/quiet zone as well, or we may just let vendors/volunteers camp wherever they want (since that's probably what they'll do , anyway).
3) There will be no driving during the festival on the internal "roads" (really more dirt tracks) except for official vehicles.
4) It's about a 10 minute walk from the far end of the party camp to the event site; about 20 minutes from the end of the quiet zone. -

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 9:55 AMI'm on my own camping with 2 children in the family area. Where can I drop off my gear and park. During set up can I come along internal roads or do I have to walk for 20 minutes with my stuff and the kids? Will my car be close (can I leave the cooler/food in the trunk?) -
-
Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 1:53 PMThere will be a drop-off area close to the camping (not 20 minutes!).
In the family area (depending on where you camp) your parked car will be a little far from you - I'd recommend keeping the cooler with the rest of your gear.
Hope that helps...

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 2:03 PMI kinda like the idea of a vendor/ volunteer camp. Not all of us vendors were so lucky to get a booth with camping. (next year I guess) But you are right everyone is going to kind of go wherever they want.
Right now I have my eye on the nearest corner under the trees close to the event.. Heck even my booth is on that end. Which ironically is also where you placed the vendor/volunteer camp :)

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 8:20 AMit looks like there are some sort of restrooms near the showers, I think those are already there so there will probrably be some portos somewhere near by.

Thu, July 23, 2009 - 8:56 AMThey're scattered around the site, so you'll always be within a 5 minute walk of relief. :D -

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Thu, July 23, 2009 - 4:56 PMAt the work party on Wednesday the 22nd I got a couple of photos of maps of the site. They're in my Flickr Faerieworlds 2009 set at www.flickr.com/photos/mob...1605739964/
Photos 6 and 12 are the maps. Photo 6 is the big map Emilio showed us at the beginning. Photo 12 is one with overlays detailing what goes where with North being to the left. If you click on those photos, then click on "All Sizes" and choose "Original size" you'll see the maps in pretty decent detail.
I hope this helps. I'd upload them to the tribe site, but photo sizes are pretty limited, whereas on Flickr I can upload the original sizes.

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Sat, July 25, 2009 - 6:15 PMHello!! Can't wait to meet you in person!!
We were wondering. We haven't heard back about our RV camping site request. Are you the ones to ask about that?
What about camping on Thursday night?
Thanks! -

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 8:58 AMIf you haven't gotten an answer yet, here's a number you might want to call: 541.687.0945.
I believe camping on Thursday night is limited to vendors and volunteers. For others, admission for setup starts at 11 a.m. Friday, three hours before the gates to the Realm open for general ticket holders. -

Sun, July 26, 2009 - 8:24 AMOne more question from me and I am done! Promise.... :P
As a vendor and also as a shopper- Are there going to be ATM's on site? -
-
Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 11:44 AMI know they were going to have them at the Secret house site. I'm not so sure if they will at the new one. I can't imagine they wont really.

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 12:20 PMFrom what I was told last Wednesday there will be an ATM, not sure about multiples though. This is just hearsay until confirmed however.

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 12:21 PMLike Savage Dryad, I can't imagine them not having ATMs. I think all they need is power and a wireless signal, which appears to be available at the site (I was just looking into the possibilities of getting one of my now-inactive cell phones activated temporarily and did see decent coverage via T-Mobile and AT&T.) Being closer to Eugene and Sprinfield, I'd think ATM access would be a little easier. Also, I doubt vendors will have any difficulty getting a signal for their credit card transactions.
Folks might want to look up where their banks have branches in the area since you might be able to get cash without extra fees.

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Sun, July 26, 2009 - 4:04 PMthey had an ATM machine at every fest ive been to. last year it ran out of money for a brief period and got filled again within a couple hours!!!
but, yeah, check for bank branches nearby.
and also, the vendors in past have taken manual credit card transactions, and checks too!

Re: Answers here for camping questions - Now with Site Map!
Wed, July 29, 2009 - 3:56 PMHi..
I am a vendor ( plus husband and 2 year old) who will be camping in my housebus. So I am wondering if the rv camping is in an open field or among trees. It gets hot in our bus in the sun and with the temps what they have been I am concerned that we will fry. Is rv camp the only place for those with rv or bus to camp ? Thanks ! -
